Victoria ISD and University of Houston-Victoria partner in STEM

The University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) and Victoria Independent School District (VISD) are teaming up to strengthen Victoria’s workforce of tomorrow.

The Office of Innovation has begun recruiting efforts for the Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) pathways housed at Victoria East and West High School.

Victoria ISD is excited to announce many fun holiday events for the entire family to attend this week, featuring VISD’s Fine Arts.

Victoria ISD elementary schools collect canned goods

Victoria ISD elementary campuses participated in the annual Salvation Army/VISD Canned Food Drive. VISD elementary campuses have competed to see which campus can collect the most canned goods for the past three years.

O'Connor ACE Elementary collected this year's trophy with a total of 2,139 pounds of canned goods. The canned food drive collected a total of 8,542 pounds of canned goods.

Congratulations to O'Connor ACE Elementary, and thank you to all of the elementary campuses for participating!

Alumni Spotlight: Turning Hardships into Greatness

Growing up, kids face different experiences, circumstances, and hardships. Some of us grew up in a two-parent household, some a one-parent household. Some of us had cars waiting for us by the time we got our driver’s license at 16, while some of us walked or rode the bus to school until graduation. Some of us experienced the loss of a loved one during high school.

This alumnus, Khaudry Holmes, experienced his own great circumstances and hardships throughout high school that have made him who he is today.

Approximately 80% of Liberty Academy Credit Recovery at Victoria College (LA@VC) students have completed applications and have been accepted to Victoria College (VC) for the Spring 2021 semester.
